Each day I struggle to understand the resistance to wear a mask to protect me from you.  It used to be that Halloween was the only event in Canada requiring a mask.  Now every day is Halloween in the presence of COVID-19.  Regardless if you think it is manmade in a laboratory or due to deforestation, does it really matter?  In both scenarios, you are the potential victim and what power do you possess to put it back in the bottle.  Get over it and become part of the solution, not an addition to the problem!

It was strongly suggested that to prevent the spread of HIV; people should use condoms during sexual intercourse.  Are condoms, not masks?  Is a mask not something put over a body part to block tiny particulate from either leaving the body or coming into the body?  It appears that this campaign was successful as the world did not see this virus taking millions of lives, and it has been with us since 1984 (no vaccine yet).

Starting in 1346 and ending in 1353, the Bubonic Plague killed an estimated 75 million to 200 million people.  Historical data depicts it starting in Eurasia (which is the largest continental area on Earth, comprising all of Europe and Asia) in 1346.  Next, it moved to Northern Africa and then peaked in Europe from 1347 to 1351, largely disappearing in 1353.

In Europe, the Bubonic Plague (Yersinia pestis bacteria) is estimated to have killed 50 million, reducing the overall population from 80 million to 30 million in just 1,460 days (4-years) or approximately an average of 34,247 people per day deaths!

According to the WHO (https://www.who.int/health-topics/plague#tab=tab_1) The Black “Plague is an infectious disease caused by Yersinia pestis bacteria, usually found in small mammals and their fleas. The disease is transmitted between animals via their fleas, and, as it is a zoonotic bacterium, it can also transmit from animals to humans.  Humans can be contaminated by the bite of infected fleas, through direct contact with infected materials, or by inhalation. Plague can be a very severe disease in people, particularly in its septicaemic and pneumonic forms, with a case-fatality ratio of 30% – 100% if left untreated.  Although plague has been responsible for widespread pandemics throughout history, including the so-called Black Death that caused over 50 million deaths in Europe during the fourteenth century, today it can be easily treated with antibiotics and the use of standard preventative measures.  Plague is found on all continents except Oceania, but most human cases since the 1990s have occurred in Africa. Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar and Peru are the three most endemic countries.”

Why didn’t the fleas on the rats bite their hosts?  Most likely, they did; however, the rats had a souped-up immune system courtesy of their daily Vit-C production. All animals with the exception of humans, primates, guinea pigs and fruit bats make their own Vit C.  A rat generates between 7,000 to 12,000 mg of Vit-C per day, easily deflecting the Bubonic Plague.

This is the crazy period were the physician carried a wooden cane, dressing in long robs with round leather hats and a mask with goggles and a bird beak.  The beak was filled with perfume. The hooked snout contained substances including a variety of herbs like lavender, camphor, vinegar sponge or laudanum, which were thought to ward off the ‘pestilence’ in the bad air.  The cane was used to touch the patient without getting too close.

During this time, people wore face coverings to block the foul odours associated with the rotting human flesh.  This is also the period to acknowledge the saying, “bring out your dead.” The population of the city where Beauty-Full Spa is located in is 97,000 or less than a 3-day death total for the Bubonic Plague.  People also social distance as they had no idea how death was being spread.  The rich went to the countryside and self quarantined.

Today around the world, the fleas are active again.  This time unlike 673 years ago, fleas are humans between the ages of 20 and 40.  They voluntarily attend superspreader events with no social distancing or wearing masks.  Like a flea, these young human adults appear to have a brain of the flea that caused the deaths of 34,247 people per day in just 1,460 days in Europe.   Imagine all of Canada’s population with the population of the state of Florida died in just four years.  Please follow the social distancing rules and become part of the solution, not the problem. It could be similar stay 6 feet or 2 metres apart and indoors wear a face covering.  If Joe Biden becomes the next POTUS, it should be mandatory that every American is forced to watch Forest Gump and receive the four essential massages, one of them being “stupid is as stupid does”.  During the Regan years, the Americans had trickle-down economics, and the Trump era will go down as trickle-down stupidity.  Please, my fellow Canadians, including the FLEAS, put on a mask and follow social distancing so we can slow down or eliminate COVID-19’s hosts!
